  • February 26, 2018

The 23rd Graduate Student Research Symposium (GSRS) included talks by 42 graduate students including EnviroNano’s own Rui Serra Maia, Karel Kletetschka, Aly Hoeher, Allie Nagurney and McNeill Bauer.  Rui gave a talk titled “Development of Microfluidic Devices for Real-time Crystallization Studies of Nanominerals”. Karel gave a talk titled “3D Printed Flow Cells for Real-time Geochemical Investigation of Ferric Hydroxyl-sulfate Formation”. Aly discussed her work on hydroxylapatite in her talk titled “In situ Investigations of the Structure and Evolution of Hydroxylapatite Precursor Phases Using Pair Distribution Function Analysis”. Allie gave a talk was titled “Integrating Micron and Nanoscale Characterization of Grain Boundaries in Metamorphic Rocks”, and in his first appearance at GSRS, McNeill gave a talk titled “Factors Regulating Synthesis and Formation Stages of Allophane Nanoparticles”.

Three of our students were awarded “best talk of the session” (pictured below).
